  • Process faculty curriculum requests; 2,000 changes in academic year 2009-2010. Curriculum lead in database conversion from legacy Bridge software (customized COBOL programming) to Oracle PeopleSoft (off-the-shelf software) from 2008-2010. Learned both software programs as part of database conversion.
  • Produce print and on-line undergraduate and graduate catalogs. Streamlined catalog process and created searchable, linkable PDF to satisfy customers. Currently, working on SharePoint model or off-the-shelf software for enhanced catalog copy and course review.
  • Conducted research, including focus groups with primary target audiences and campus-wide online survey, regarding user preference for hard copy versus online catalogs, to determine transition timeline to online catalog and print-on-demand for a nominal fee for hard copy version of catalogs.

  • Prepared creative, interactive lesson plans. Initiated integration of social media strategies and tactics into curriculum prior to revamp of curriculum due to accreditation.
  • Taught advertising, buyer behavior, professional selling, public relations, and sales management. Consistently received positive evaluations from chairs, peers, and majority of students.  Learned and used D2L, online course system, for assignments and grading. Initiated survey in first class to determine how students learn (visual, auditory, or kinesthetic) in order to teach to their styles. Also, provided online survey for students to take after first exam to obtain their feedback and shift teaching methods, style if needed.
  • Mentored/coached students regarding all kinds of issues, but in particular career planning and job seeking. Refer extraordinary students to my network for employment.
  • Offered employment consistently from either College of Business or Communication and Journalism, but was not always able to schedule class around full-time employment.

  • Earned certificate in web design and development during 2009-2010 academic year. Successfully completed the following courses: Fundamentals of Web Page Design, Introduction to Web Programming, Web Database Design and Implementation, Web Design and Development Capstone Course, and Digital Storytelling. 
  • Fundamentals of Web Page Design: I created an initial website for Beezie Bags. Client Patricia Lee desired database, pay pal, etc. so I referred idea to capstone course. Website shown is work product of that team. However, they used the photos I took for the initial website.

    • Web Database Design and Implementation: With an extraordinary team, prepared a website for Great Harvest Bread Company. Client did not desire to implement. My role: Client Contact primarily, power point preparer, and photographer.

    • Web Design and Development Capstone: With extraordinary team, prepared a website for Minnesota Masters Swimming. Client liked our work so much that the following Fall she hired a couple of the original team members to continue working on the website.
